Bump-N-FeedTM
Trimmer Cutting Head

SAFETY WARNING

Wear appropriate safety apparel when operating your trimmer and the cutting head


ALWAYS WEAR EYE AND LIMB PROTECTION SAFETY GUARD

When using this cutting head, make sure the trimmer's safety guard is in place. Many guards contain a line cutting device. If the trimmer does not have this device, make sure that the cutting line does not exceed 6 inches per side. (Refer to "Recommended Cutting Line Length" under CUTTING LINE.)

    
 CAUTION
CUTTING HEAD MUST NOT EXCEED 10,000 RPM'S

 CAUTION

Be sure that the spark plug wire is disconnected and clear of spark plug before servicing or repairing your trimmer.



Installing Bump-N-FeedTM Head

REMOVING OLD HEAD1 INSTALLING NEW HEAD
Check the cutting rotation of your trimmer's drive shaft. (Left or Right)

NOTE: If drive shaft rotated to left, loosen old head to the right.

 CAUTION  Be sure that the spark plug wire is disconnected and clear of spark plug before servicing or repairing your trimmer.

Refer to your owner's manual for special drive shaft instructions.

PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN REMOVING ANY TYPE OF BLADE.

You may need to remove the shaft bolt that is installed in the head. Should your trimmer require the other shaft bolt or stud, you simply remove the shaft bolt and nylon No. 3) in a clockwise direction using common pliers.

Locate proper shaft bolt and stud (if needed) and install it in the Head. (Refer to "MULTI-APPLICATION" chart and "SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS.")

Install Bump-N-FeedTM cutting head, on your trimmer and securely tighten it in place.

NOTE: If drive shaft rotated to left, loosen old head to the right.

When buying replacement cutting line, we suggest a premium quality line, like "Round Cut" or "Sharp Edges"TM Trimmer Line. Other cutting lines substantially fray at the ends causing drag, lessens your cutting effectiveness and wears out the engine.
 
 
Service Instructions

 CAUTION:  Remove spark plug wire before servicing cutting head!1

TO INSTALL FRESH TRIMMER LINE:
1.     Press in on either eyelet and head will come apart. 

NOTE: If your finger will not fit, use screwdriver.
2.     Remove innerspool from base. Spring should stay in place in housing.
3.     Once removed, take two equal amounts of cutting line (Refer to innerspool capacity under CUTTING LINE) and push ends through two small holes in the innerspool in the opposite direction of the arrows.

USE LEFT ARROW IF USING SHAFT BOLT 1, 2, 3 WITH OR WITHOUT STUDS.

USE RIGHT ARROW IF USING SHAFT BOLT #4 (RED)
4.     Use line lock to secure line in the innerspool.
5.     Insert innerspool into base with one eyelet installed in base, slide one cutting line through that eyelet while pushing innerspool down into base. Place the second eyelet over the cutting line end and snap eyelet into the eyelet slot in base.
6.     Check to make sure that innerspool is properly placed in base and eyelets are snapped into place.
7.     Align base and innerspool with housing and eyelet Snap the two together with both hands Be sure innerspool is free to bump up and down. Clip ends of cutting line to equal lengths. (Refer to "Recommended Cutting Line Length" under Trimmer Cutting Line on reverse side.)


8.     REINSTALL SPARK PLUG WIRE

TO FEED NEW CUTTING LINE:
 
To feed more cutting line simply bump head on ground while the engine is running at half speed. One inch of line will advance with each bump.
  CAUTION  DO NOT OVER ADVANCE CUTTING LINE AS THIS WILL DAMAGE TRIMMER AND ENGINE!
